Happy 5th Anniversary to us!!!
Yesterday was our 5th wedding anniversary. Where does time go I wonder. My mom came to our house for the entire day and watched all the munchkins. Max and I spent the day in San Francisco. It was great. Having the time alone was special enough. We shopped until our feet hurt. Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, The Cannery and Ghiradelli Square. It was a typical foggy fall day with the mist and an occasional sprinkle. I always love visiting the Sea Lions at the pier. They put on quit a show. We enjoyed a light lunch of Cesar Salad, Clam Chowder in the Sour Dough Bowl and Beer...Yummo!! Then after we walked that off we waited in line for a cable car sundae at Ghiradelli (it's a must have when I'm there). We bought the kids a special treat from Kara's Cupcakes in celebration of our special day. They are the best cupcakes ever. As we rolled our fat selves back to the car we stopped to check out the coolest restaurant ever. It's call the Rain Forest Cafe. Talk about amazing. The entire restaurant looked like your were dinning under a canopy of vines, leaves, tropical flowers, fog (from the fog machines), water falls and animated jungle animals. Amazing is all we could say. You could even feel the humidity in the air. We agreed this was a must return with the kids. We talked about bringing them or maybe just Colin back before Christmas to see all the city lights, Christmas tree, ride the cable car and then have dinner at the cafe. We headed home as the rain was starting to pick up and stopped for dinner at a local brew house in town then back home to the kids. Mimi (my mom) was still alive (always a good sign), the twins were asleep and Colin was impatiently awaiting our return. My mom said he was getting worried, it was dark and raining were could they be. We were greeted with the biggest running hugs and kisses you could ever ask for. How nice it is to come home to such sweetness. Early to bed for all, Max had to get up at 4am for a dirt bike race and I have a day of grocery shopping, laundry, and some light house keeping (oh, happy joy) with kids in tow. Thanks again mom, we had the best day.
