We spent a relaxing and fun 4th of July at my Aunt and Uncle's home in the country. My dad was home from Iraq, so it was great spending the weekend with him. I made a potato salad and a macaroni salad first thing in the morning, got everyone dressed and ready to go. We made a quick stop at Target to get Luke and Ava life jackets before went to my family's house.
Me, Ava, Luke and Colin "Team USA"
Colin and I swimming. He is really getting the hang of swimming and is more comfortable each time we go. He is tall enough this summer to touch the bottom of the shallow end. He is so proud of this. He was showing everyone.
Ava waving the American Flag.
Luke and I swimming. He was hesitant at first, but by the end of the day he wanted the life jacket off and was jumping to me off the first step.
Luke and Ava showing off their new swim attire. Ava never made it off the second step. Which surprises me, she is usually our little dare devil and Luke is more cautious. The always amaze me.
We stopped swimming to eat a great lunch, lounged around and visited with everyone. My cousins Jim, Patty and Katie came down from Washington. It is always fun to visit with them. We dove in for some more swimming in the late afternoon before dinner, dessert and fireworks you could see from a distance. A beautiful and fun day to be had by all. I love 4th of July, it ranks up their with my favorite holidays.
