Laundry room makeover

So, I started cleaning and organizing my laundry room today. I found these really cute cafe curtains at Target and they do the trick. Hung up with a simple tension rod they hide all my cleaning supplies, tools, Meeko's toiletries and a variety of odds and ends. It will also help in cutting down on the dust that accumulates in this room. It's right off the garage, so it gets dusty quit easily.

The baskets keep the fabric softeners and a variety of stain fighting goodies out of sight. A metal basket with paper towels and a spray bottle with a mixture of bleach and water for quick easy clean-ups (a must when you have three children and a child care). Then a decorative wash board with hooks that hold all our keys.

I like the look of keeping things organized and out of sight. Not seeing the clutter keeps my mind clear when I come in here. Not to mention this space is visible from the hall way and across from Ava's room, I want it to be clean and cheerful. Everything has a place and a purpose!
I have always loved the idea of a mudroom in my house, but we don't have the space. However, I do need a space where the kids have one location to hang the backpacks and coats. Directly across from the washer and dryer I have a mirror with 5 double hooks. One hook for each family member. The kids each have their own space now and it's right across from their bedrooms. I also placed multicolored votive holders on the shelf above. Right now they put their sunglasses inside or lunch money at a later date. Just another little personal catch all. What's left is to now paint the walls and redo the floors. Soon I hope. I want some of these small projects done before Spring, because I'm anxious to get outside and work in the yard.
