Making room for new toys!

So, for the past month I have been slowly working on making room for new toys, organizing and simplifying areas of the house. It started in the boys room. Colin, Luke and I emptied out the entire closet, dresser and toy shelf. We purged all clothing and toys that didn't fit or they hadn't played with in awhile. I respect their belongings and where they came from so they take part in deciding what stays and goes. They also understand we are making room for new fun stuff. We packed everything up and donated it to the Opportunity House. Once we had everything put away it was still very apparent that they needed more storage. For over two years now I have know that I wanted to put lockers in the boys room for extra clothing storage. We'll that day finally came. They are wonderful. We are getting rid of the old dresser and toy shelf to make room for a new one. Next week I will begin the painting. Again, the color is the boys choice and under their window we have a special surprise planned. I'll share that later with pictures when it's done. It will make for a fun space. I basically, did the same process in Ava's room as well. She however has a lot more space...no roommate. A few fun surprises are in store for her as well. My goal is to have it all finished by their third birthday in March. The kitchen got a good cleaning, with newly added pots, pans and dishes. I still have the dreaded Microwave and oven to clean. Now I am on to the laundry room. Cleaning, organizing and painting. It needs a fresh start. I always hate how dusty and grimy it gets on the floor between each other. It's such a snug fit nothing fits between to clean. They are tall front loading units and I'll need Max's help to move them, clean and paint. Then I need to focus on my little office space. Purge, organize and get ready for TAXES!! Yuk! I love the return but I don't love the work that goes into it. Our big goal hopefully this year would be the master bath and bedroom. Total gut and redo. I can't wait. We know exactly what we're going to do. Back to the laundry room I go. Kids are asleep, so I've gotta work fast.
