We started our Saturday by picking up Shamrock from the vet. He was neutered Friday and stayed the night. He is naughty, so he came home with a satellite around his head. The say to keep it on for 10 days, but it's only day 4 and he's crazy with it on. Crashes into every wall, cabinet and person. Let me say it hurts when he whacks you in the face with that thing. I don't think I'll make it to day 10. We picked him up a new kennel at Western Ranch and the boys went home to put it together. Ava and I went to gymnastics. She is now in Daring Dragonflies. There are only 4 little girls in her class, so the coaching is more personal and they each get a lot of attention. She loves every minute of it. She got a new leotard to wear, she's says it's "Hannah-an-tannah." We cleaned up and got the kids ready for a birthday party. Colin's little buddy Nathan was turning six. We left a little early and took the kids to their Granny and Papa's house. Max and I were headed to the Barn Dance. A fundraiser for 4H. Great music, a huge tri-tip dinner, drinks and friends we haven't seen in a long time to visit with. It was a great night, always is.

Sunday morning we all slept in and I made a big french toast breakfast for everyone. A few chores to get done around the house and then we all headed out to Lowe's for a few last minute items to finish the chicken coop. Several weeks ago one of Max's co-workers, Tom offered us his old chicken coop. We obviously don't need one, but my Aunt Debi did. So, Max, Luke and Ava picked it up several weeks ago. It has been a work in progress getting it all cleaned up and making a few repairs.

Sunday was spent just making it look nice. Max and painted it colonial red and white and added composite shingles to the top.

The back used to be one solid panel, we changed it to three separate pieces having the middle open up so you could clean and collect eggs easier. It has 5 nesting boxes inside for the chickens to lay their eggs. My Aunt and Uncle came down to load it up and take it home. We followed so Max could help unload it.

Glenn and Max put it in place. It's only temporary as my Aunt and Uncle still had more work to do leveling the area and enclosing the coop and cage so the chickens won't run away.

We put a few chickens inside to give it a test run and they seem to like it. The kids and I will check in this week to see them settled in their new home. The kids have three of the chickens and they named them chicken "Shoot," "McNugget," and "Grill." My kids haven't learned the art of naming your pets, they come up with some weird things. Like our fish "Nacho." I told Debi I was going to name two "El Pollo Loco" and "Chicken Parmigiana." It seemed fitting.
