Tea time!

I am always looking for fun little ways to make our summer days exciting and creative. Yesterday, was a Tea Party. With the help of my cousin, Sally we had enough tea cups and saucers for all the kids.
I set two small tables with linens and trays of mini blueberry muffins, shortbread cookies, and fresh fruit. I made tea, lemonade and sliced lemon wedges. Colin was our waiter and he took the orders.
The kids all had fun dressing up we had old hats and ties for the boys, dress up clothes Madeline brought, I pulled out a bunch of jewelry and Ava's dress up shoes.

It was so cute! They are were extremely careful with their tea cups. Not one was dropped or broken and there were no spills.

Even the little kids did great. I have been trying to give them all cups without lids lately (mostly because I am tired of cleaning all the little parts and all the extra pieces get lost).

After the tea party, I cleaned up and the older kids orchestrated a fashion show since they were all dressed up. I was requested to be the judge and pass out awards. I love their creativity. I try to leave most ofour activities open ended just for this purpose. It's fun to see where they will

take the activity next.

Madeline rocked the show, Colin was Cowboy Cool, Brooklynn had Sparkle-tude,

Ava was a ballerina princess, Luke and Wyatt went old school with their hats and ties. (You can see Luke's new red cast.)

It was a simply delightful morning filled fun, friends, laughter and "tea."
