10-10-10
This day only comes around once every 1000 years.
What are you doing today?
My mom, Ava and I got up really early and went to the Downtown Sac Antique Fair. We left at 6:00 to get there when they opened at 6:30. We wanted good parking and first dibs on all the goodies.
Just a few minutes into our treasure hunt I found this sweet little table for Ava's room. Love the distressed look with hand carved flowers and leaves and inlaid apple green glass tiles in the center.
One vendor sold this dragon fly to Ava for $1, you can't beat that and it came with the bamboo stick. The green matched her table I just bought. It looks sweet and adds a bit of whimsy to the room. She loves it and that's all that matters.
I have been hunting for a globe. Store bought school globes have plastic bases and I have not been impressed. I wanted an older school globe with a metal base that I remember from when I was in elementary school. SCORE!!
Colin was soooo pleased, he immediately placed it on top of his toy locker in their bedroom.
My last find was an old printing press tray. I will actually hang it vertically and have fun filling it with little trinkets and found treasures, creating a dimensional piece of artwork for the play room. It needs to be cleaned up a bit. I haven't decided if I'll keep it natural or if I'll paint it out black and sand it down. So at the end of my day I spent less than $35. My mom found a few treasures of her own and Ava indulged in some kettle corn while we shopped. She loved all the kid furniture we saw and old dolls. This event is held the second Sunday each month. I think it stops in December and resumes in the spring. Can't wait to go again. We had a great time and in Ava's words "A fun girlie moment!"
Now as for the boys, we'll Luke and Colin joined my grandparents at church. Max got ready to meet up with his friends Tony, Bill and a few others and head into SF for this evenings 49'er game.
Go Niner's!
Fall Break is over and now it's back to school and back to our routine. Grocery store and laundry room here I come.
