We always start decorating over Thanksgiving weekend. Max hangs the lights and puts out my snowmen in the front yard while the kids and I work on the inside. Every year I try and put a new twist on the same decorations.
Our tree is like a memory tree. Filled with ornaments given to us or from different experiences and treasured times. Many have the kids pictures and yearly ornaments from school and such. Every ornament has a story. I love that!
With a little help from snow in a can and some silver paint I created a Winter Wonderland
scene for the mantle this year.
scene for the mantle this year.
I already had the Santa and the Snowflakes. I simply strung them up with jute twine to create garland. I also had the tree and sprayed on the snow along with a collection of pine cones. An urn sprayed out silver with some crystal candle sticks, candles sprayed silver, green pine garland and we were done. After Christmas I will take down Santa and can keep the Winter theme for a few more months.
