Silveyville Christmas Tree Farm

Luke, Ava, Zoe and I picked up Colin early today from school and headed to the Silveyville Christmas Tree Farm for Luke and Ava's preschool field trip.
We were greeted by grandma who waved and welcomed the children to the farm.
After the owner shared with the kids what they would be doing she asked for a boy and girl volunteer to help her lead the class in a round of Jingle Bells.
Ava and J were chosen as bell ringers to lead the song.
The children headed over to a partially covered barn with hay bale seating to enjoy a little story about the Little seedling destined to become a Christmas Tree.
She had their full attention.  They each got to try a pine nut at the end of the story
and then an opportunity to plant their own
pine tree seed.
Hot apple cider and popcorn around a big enclosed fire pit concluded their visit.
The highlight of the visit was a sleigh ride around the farm lead by Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer.  This is the same farm we visit in October for their spectacular pumpkin patch.  This place never disappoints.  The kids and I were happy to see Trio (their Australian Shepherd, up and walking around with his wheels).  We pray they'll come off soon.
