I have been working closely with members of the ministry team and teaching staff to put together the schools annual Pasta night fundraiser. I chaired the the event with another team member and friend, Dana. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. She and I pulled together quit a few donations from local businesses in our community. Each class sponsored a gift basket that our families could donate to. They turned out fabulous. We had a Disney theme, Arts and Crafts, Reading Corner and Family Fun! The children spent the week decorating pasta theme centerpieces for all the tables and made died pasta necklaces to wear.
The kids enjoyed a yummy dinner of pasta, salad, french bread and cookies.
Ava and daddy enjoying play time out on the playground while I worked inside.
The kids practically lived at school today so I could help set up, help and clean up for the event.
Ava would love it if we had a playhouse in the back yard. This school has the best play ground I've ever had the privilege of working at or attending.
So of course we bought our fare share of raffle tickets to win a gift basket. Max loaded the can for Family Fun (along with most everyone else), so that was a no go. My dad and Lupe filled the Reading Corner can with their tickets and won. What's funny is that this basket was donated by Luke and Ava's class and I was the parent that put it together. It is filled with 25 different children's books, a big soft blanket, pee-wee pillow pet and a book bag that says "Reading is a HOOT" that I made. Dad and Lupe left the basket for the kids to share and enjoy. They were super excited. Thanks Dad and Lupe, it was very generous and now we have ooddles of new stories to cuddle up and share together. My grandparents were also able to join us for the evening and support our school. This really is a special place.
