Today the kids and I enjoyed climbing up the ladder (only I did that) into the attic to retrieve all the totes with our Fall goodies and begin the fun process of decorating.
First up, was our scarecrow that has been in the making for the past two seasons. This took us most of the time we had. But, we are happy to report that he is finally finished. He was faceless the last two years, but not anymore. Ava picked out and glued on the button eyes. I cut out the nose and mouth from orange and dark green felt then Luke glued them on. I added some black embroidery thread stitching to his mouth for a finishing touch. The kids added a little more stuffing to plump him up and he now happily greets our guests by the front door.
We have more decorating to do, but we had to stop and get ready for school. Luke and Ava had school pictures today. Which tells me Autumn is coming. Soon I hope. I am ready for the cooler weather and for the leaves to start changing colors.
