The Lorax

With the time change, Sunday morning was a blur and the kids and I missed church.  So, when we were were finally ready I took them to IHop for the Lorax breakfast.  They each had a stack of Truffula pancakes with green eggs and ham.
As we were leaving the hostess gave each of the kids a book mark with a Truffula tree.  They can soak the paper containing tree seeds for 24 hours and then plant in the ground. So cool!  The kids were given movie tickets to see the Lorax from my dad and Lupe for their birthday.  So, later in the day we met my friend Dana and her girls, Kaitlin and Teagan at the theater to watch The Lorax.
This movie is so whimsical with colorful characters like the Lorax, the evil Once-ler, Humming fish, Swomee-swans, and Brown Barbaloots living in the Truffula Valley. When all the trees in Truffula valley are chopped down by the eveil Once-ler to create Thneeds, a useless clothing item, people are forced to live in Thneed-ville where the air is bad and nothing grows.  We can't wait until it comes out on DVD so we can watch it again.  It's a must have.  Colin, Luke, Ava and I had a fun and busy weekend while Max was away.  They were super excited when he returned home Sunday night.  He had a great time with VCMC and did really well.  The results came in last night and Max got first place in his class and 19th overall (out of 246 riders).  The kids and I are so proud of him.
