New Playroom!
So, I think I finally have the playroom close to what I wanted and need. I set up little zones or learning areas. The next photo is our art/writing center. I found a great inexpensive easel at IKEA. It's a chalk board on one side and white board on the other. It also holds a roll of paper in the middle so you can paint as well. A small child's table and a couple chairs for drawing and other projects. I'd like to find one or two more chairs if possible.
The next Learning area is manipulative/games. I also got this great storage system at IKEA as well. The four top cubbies have canvas boxes for each child to put their personal belongings and projects from their day. I want to get more boxes for each of the other cubbies, but I bought the last four they had so, I'll have to check back frequently to get the rest. I took a picture of each activity which I will print out and laminate. I plan on hanging each picture with ribbon from the handle of each box. This way the children will know exactly where to return items during clean-up making things run smoothly. It's also a pre-reading skill.
I also set up a small quiet library area for the kids to sit, relax and read books. Eventually, I'd like to replace the rocker with another child size chair that is more comfortable.
Colin is demonstrating the coffee table turned toy cubby that I reupholstered. They to sit in the window and read or play with small toys.
The last corner is a catch all right now. It houses Colin's train set in the basket and a few infant activities. I leave the center of this room open for movement and large activities . It has a large area rug to define the space. I have quit a few little dancers in this group, so they need the space.

Hey! Looks great! You wanna come to my house? HA! I wish I even had an area to do this. Hopefully, when we move back on base I can convert a 4th bedroom to a playroom/studyroom. That would be a nice thought! You did a great job and I really like the cubbies from IKEA. Great storage. I found similar kaki canvas cubby boxes at Lowes. We have them in our walk in closet and I keep junk in them. You might wanna check it out. Otherwise, I think it looks good with just the top row in boxes.
