Good Times!
So, my camera battery has been dead now for about 2 weeks. Therefore, I do not have any fun pictures to show for all our good times of late. The weekend after Colin's birthday we went camping to Lake of the Springs with my grandparents, my aunt, uncle and cousin and my dad and his girlfriend. The kids had a blast (we did too). They loved the lake, playing in the water and sitting at waters edge with sand buckets and shovels. The weather was perfect. We got Colin a fishing pole for his birthday, so Max took him down first thing in the morning to give it a try. Colin pretty much summed it up when I asked how he did, "It didn't work out so well for me mom." The kid cracks me up. This last week my child care schedule changed a little bit. One child started Kindergarten, so she's now 1/2 time, and one was on vacation. It gave the kids and I three days last week where we were alone. It was a nice breather and a great chance to get caught up around here. I took the kids to Napa on Wednesday and surprised Max at work. Colin loves to visit daddy at the shop. We also went to Connolly Ranch. An amazing farm that is free (we make a donation) to walk around and see the garden and animals. The kids got to feed apples to the miniature cow and horse. We had a blast. Then we went to visit their great-grandparents for awhile, went to lunch and ended up at my dads. This last weekend we went to the state fair with Lin and Keith, Molly and JD, and our friends Tony, Tracy and their 4 kids. It was warm and long, but was a lot of fun. The kids played many games, went on rides, got to hold a baby pig that squealed like crazy, indulged all the adults while we shopped around at the vendors, stopped to drink and sit in the shade. They were all so good and deserve a huge gold star. We headed home and stopped at Chili's for a late dinner. We were one tired group. Sunday was spent doing chores and trying to get our energy back. So, now it's Monday and back to work we go. This is a short week, but a very busy week for us. I can't believe it's already here, Colin starts preschool next Wednesday. This Wednesday we will meet with one of his three teachers for an intake interview. This is a chance for the teacher to get to now Colin before his first day. Thursday is Colin's school orientation and doctor appointment for a school physical. We will stop in between and go out to lunch for my birthday. Friday we leave for the coast. We are braving the Labor Day weekend and going camping with Max's brother and his family. We'll be home on Monday. I finally got a new battery for my camera yesterday so I can take pictures of Colin's school and our camping trip. We'll post those as these events unfold.
