Ms. Donna's Music Academy

I took Luke, Ava, Sierra and Jacob the last two Thursday's to Ms. Donna's Music Academy for a special holiday workshop. We had the best time. She is awesome, so talented, sweet and full of energy. It was a fun change of pace to get out of the house and do something different. I love the age the kids are at because we are able to try new things and they have longer attention spans and better listening.

On the last day Ms. Donna had a cookie decorating room set up with Christmas shapes, frosting and sprinkles galore. The kids always love that.

First of all the entire room was covered in white soft packing peanuts (snow). The kids were throwing it, laying down making snow angels and they filled the parachute with snow and a little snowman. Danced around in circle to Frosty the Snowman, making the little guy go "Bumpity, bump, bump, Bumpity, bump, bump, look at Frosty go..."

All the music she plays involves the children in dance and movement and the use of her piano, bells, rhythm sticks, Rody the bouncing reindeer, stick horses and bouncy balls. She has one trick after another up her sleeve for non-stop fun.

Jacob is melting like a snowman.

Sierra bouncing around.

Ava riding her horse, which she loved so much. She wanted to take it home. We had a great time and would love to do it again. Her typical classes are smaller in size and they focus more on simple musical concepts and instruments. Would be fun to give it a try.
