Wicked!

My dad surprised me with a father and daughter date. We spent a Saturday taking a beautiful ferry ride to San Francisco, where we had a light lunch at a great little deli down by the ferry building. We caught a taxi and headed to the Orpheum theater to see Wicked! Oh my, was this awesome. We had sixth row seats with the VIP treatment. Drinks before the show in the VIP lounge and during intermission. The architecture at the Orpheum is outstanding. The play was fantastic to say the least. It was musical, it was funny, the costumes and sets were spectacular. I couldn't help but think of Ava the entire time. What fun she would have had, not to mention my dad and I giggled as we could see Ava down the road several years performing on stage as the character of Glinda (the good witch); bubbly, energetic, and funny..

The cast were available afterwards for pictures. This was one of the actors that played a munchkin. I would recommend this to anyone. After the play we took a taxi to dinner at Morton's steakhouse, this was fine dining at it's best (in my book at least). The food was absolutely delish and better than that was a day with dad. He has been in Iraq for the last 18 months, so it was great to have him home and spend the day with him all to myself. Thanks dad, it was a truly special day, one I will never forget. I do have to mention Max, he held down the fort with the kids, so I could have this special day. I love you honey, thanks! We caught the 7pm ferry and headed home. The next day was Max's birthday! We won't mention how old...We took him shopping for new shoes and a Giant's, both of which I new he wanted, but needed for him to try them on. We dropped the kids off at my mom's and went to Starz for a little lunch and some bowling. After we picked up the kids, my mom and Jeff joined us for dinner at Villa Corona and ice cream at Fentons. A no fuss, relaxing and fun day...just the way Max likes it. Happy Birthday honey...I love you!
