Fluffy Flip Flops
On Friday, Brooklynn and I endeavored on a new project we saw on-line, Fluffy Flip Flops. Since 4th of July is coming up we decided to go with a patriotic theme. A trip to Joanne's Fabrics for some fabric and we were set.
All you need is fabric (I got a yard=more than enough for two or three pairs), scissors and a ruler. I measured 6-inch strips that were 1-inch wide. You could use regular scissors or pinking shears for an extra twist.
Brooklynn and I just simply tied them on to some flip flops she already had. They happened to be blue. You could coordinate your flip flops and fabric to your hearts content. We didn't double knot them, this way if you want to take off the "fluff" it's simple to do. We tied the first on loosely and slid it to the bottom and secured tighter once in place. After each on we just kept pushing them down, until we had a full look. She tried them on and I cut the ends that were to close to the ground, after I finished both flip-flops we were done. I told her Monday we would adorn her feet with patriotic Glitter Toes to finish the festive look for Independence Day. Now onto Ava she wants a pair and her toes done to. I think for her I'll play with the size of fabric and still cut 6-inches long but maybe 1/2-inch wide, since her feet are smaller. This is when having girls around is fun. Don't get me wrong, I love my boys, it's fun to girly stuff. Brooklynn has a crafty heart and I love. We will have a great summer.
