A wonderful summer is quickly coming to an end and we had so much fun, we went new places, had new experiences, visited with friends and family, and began new adventures. It seems like forever since I sat down to journal our adventures. This summer really went by very quickly for us. We took the kids up to Oregon again for my family reunion. It is so much fun and will become a tradition every two years.

Ava and Brynne were enjoying a mini slumber party and watching a movie one evening. They're three so needless to say it didn't last very long, but the idea was fun.

The guys enjoyed some horseshoes: The Jim's (my dad and Jim Borden) vs. Max and Grandpa.

They weren't competitive at all...yeah right. I think it was said that middle aged dudes lost to the young and mature team. Way to go Max and Grandpa. Good memories!

Most of the family gathered for a hike to the waterfalls. That is why people visit this place. Which by the way is in Silverfalls, OR. So beautiful. It's pretty steep, so the young and the old had walking buddies.

The kids enjoy climbing in all the nooks and crannies of the hillside, more technically call "Erosional Chimneys." Colin and Connor had a great time exploring together.

Colin, Luke, Ava, and Connor taking a break on a log bench at the end of our hike.

Max found a big stick he widdled to be his walking stick. Can we say OLD! He climbed this tree stump and the kids weren't so successful. Ya! your cool honey!

I woke up one morning to find a squirrel enjoying last nights cup of hot cocoa. Not so hot though. Before I could get the picture taken his whole body was inside the mug. Too funny!
Brynne, Ava, Luke, Morgan, and Colin. My cousin Heather's girls, they were so cute and so much fun. I wish we lived closer. They were a great group.
Max and I in one of the caverns by the falls.

Luke got his new cast right before we left for Oregon. He carried his sharpie around and had everyone sign it. So cute and proud of his art work.

Shamrock stayed back home at a kennel and Meeko stayed at my Aunt's house. Meeko was in heaven all week and Shamrock was stressed out when we returned. Needless to say, he was happy to see us and his pal Ernie.

They took a long and much needed rest.

Fourth of July was a relaxing day of swimming and BBQ'n at my Aunt's house. The kids were so tired from the long trip home from OR and then a full day of sun they fell asleep before we could even say fireworks. Max and snuggled in and watched a movie. Worked for me.

That week Luke got his cast off and a new x-ray giving him a clean bill of health. His bone was nicely healed.
Colin started his t-ball season, which he was so excited about. His two buddies Matt and Tyler from school were all playing together.

Max was able to help coach this season whenever they were short handed. Which was almost every game. He really enjoyed it and looks forward to being the assistant coach next year. What a great dad!

In mid July we went camping with the Napa Valley Climbers (Max's dirt bike club) to Boca Rest Reservoir. It was hot and dusty, but sooo much fun.

The kids would play hide and go seek when it would start getting dark. They're were a lot of kids there, so it made for a really fun time.

The reservoir was so pretty and the water crystal clear. A little brisk, but you just had to go for it.

Some of the members had kayaks and they were generous enough to share. They were a lot of fun and very relaxing to cruise around in.

Max and I would take turns with the kids. They were enough water toys, rafts, and inner tubes to go around. Everyone brought their stuff and shared~a really great group to camp with. We can't wait until November for the WFO!!

Towards the end of June we went to CA State Fair. Our yearly tradition although earlier than usual. We are used to it being at the end of August. The day had it's ups and downs. We ate yummy food that you only get at the fair, saw really cute baby animals, huge Texas Longhorns, shopped the exhibits, then Luke was lost, then found (thank god), Ava was sick and time to go home.

Ava, Kristin, Luke, Max, Colin, Jack and Chris!

The first weekend of August we headed again for some camping to Cisco Grove, with our friends Tony and Tracy, Bill and Katie and their kids.

Colin had the best time riding his dirt bike at the kiddie track. It was great practice and lots of fun.

I too, got some practice at the kiddie track. Just my speed. Yes, my sweet hubby got me an early birthday present. Just my size and speed and great for me to learn on and then I can grow into something bigger down the line. For now, this was great fun. Can't wait to go again.

Luke and Max! Luke has finally warmed up to dirt bike concept.

Luke and Ava had the most fun enjoying the river, floating their boats and trying to skip rocks.

Even Shamrock was beside himself with excitement. Boy can he run. He has so much power, it's crazy. He so good about staying right with us at the trailer and not wandering off, but the river was just to enticing. He would leave to go for a swim and come back soaking wet.

It was Colin's 6th birthday while we were camping, so we had a big dinner for him and my mom who was in the area was so kind and brought us a yummy chocolate cake. Thanks Mom! you're awesome!!

I had the ice cream and decorations. This was his birthday wish, to go camping and dirt bike riding. We are so used to parties at home, but I thought this was a great idea and it turned out to be an awesome weekend.

Days after turning six, Colin started First Grade. Yet again we have another really great teacher. I am so pleased with this school and staff. We are looking forward to another wonderful year.

My dad and Lupe invited us to join them at the Napa Town and Country Fair. Max stayed home after a long day at work, so I took the kids out for the evening.

Lupe is on the Board of Directors so the kids got to ride until they were so dizzy we had to leave.

They had a blast to say the least. Thanks Lupe and dad, it was a fun evening!

We had a small family gathering that weekend and celebrated Colin's birthday. A simple bbq with Granny and Papa, Papa Jim and Lupe, GG and Papa Don, Aunt Debi, Uncle Glenn and Donald. Thanks to everyone for making his birthday so special, even if you couldn't make it!

I made these baseball cupcakes. They were super easy and so much fun to make.

Luke and Ava went to PEP school for orientation. Eventhough they already new their teachers and the classroom, it was fun to see the kids and meet the parents they would be spending the next year with.

Luke was a little hesitant and nervous. It was a pretty big crowd and he doesn't always know what to make of it. It was nice thought because my mom (aka Mimi) was with us and it helped calm his nerves.

Ava on the other hand was full of excitement and didn't know where to begin. She is my little social butterfly...I wonder where she gets it.

This is out in our front yard as we were getting ready to leave for our first day of school. They both did great, no tears, just big beautiful smiles and lots of stories to tell when they got home. I can't believe they are in school. I am so proud of all three of my kids. They are each so different, so sweet and loving and they are a dream come true. My DREAM x 3...what a blessing! More to come. This time i'll try not to take so long between posts.
