Stoneyford: WFO Enduro 2010

We spent four days up at Stoneyford for the 2010 WFO Enduro race. What a beautiful weekend. Mid November and the temps were in the low 80's during the day and then cooled way down at night. I usually try and get a family photo each time we camp, but I'm not always successful. This time we were.
Max belongs to Valley Climbers, a dirt bike club and this is an event they hold the second weekend of November every year. All the members, wives and children camp for 4+ days getting ready for the event.
Colin and I got a lot of riding in this weekend at the Nail Track for beginners. Total fun! The first day it was a little dusty, but still fun. Shamrock ran his legs this weekend and followed Colin on his bike everywhere he went.

Max loaded up his back pack with stakes and flags and headed out each morning for about 4-5 hours with a group of guys and marked the trails with arrows or "Wrong Way Dummy" signs. The kids thought that was funny. I stayed back with the kids and other wives and moms. We held down the fort so to speak, keeping the kids happy and getting meals ready. The club cooked Tri-tip, salad, beans and french bread Saturday night for all the members and their families.
An exciting game of spoons, mixed with a whole lot of tequila made for an even more exciting evening.

Luke and Ava enjoy camping and the freedom to run a muck with minimal boundaries. They are so amped to go camping and cry when it's time to come home. For the most part they are always really well behaved. It is fun to have so many other kids to play with in the great outdoors (their favorite place to be).

Colin rippin' it up at the Nail Track. The second day they watered it down, so we had awesome puddles and oodles of mud to ride through. I prefer it this way, better traction. I was right behind him on my bike taking photos. He is so fun to watch and is becoming very confident.

Father and son headed out to the track. What great memories they will share. I can't wait for the day where Luke will join them. I hope they remember these moments for always. We all look forward to next years race and all the camping in between. Several of the other members and their families are going to get together and we will plan more camping trips just like this. Friends and families, bikes and dirt, campfires, food, games and fun! Can't wait.
