Results are in...

I visited with my Neurologist on Monday and he went over the spinal tap results with me. Bad news...the protein levels in my spinal fluid were abnormal indicating I do have MS. Good news...the cell counts were normal indicating my MS is inactive. Yeah for me!! Trying to gage where I fall on a scale of 0-10 (0=I don't have it to 10=bed ridden) he feels I am probably at a 1 or 2. That is great news. So, I will continue with my weekly self injections and hope that Avonex will do it's job for many years to come and the MS will not progress. I will have my blood drawn every three months to make sure the drugs aren't harming my organs and then another MRI in June to make sure there aren't any new lesions. I'll take this good news, what a great Christmas present for me. Let's hope 2011 and the years to come will go more smoothly than the past four months have.
