The new year was spent at home. Plans to join our friends were haulted when Ava spiked a fever of 102 that afternoon. She had been fighting a virul infection for the last week that caused her to break out in a head to toe rash, aka Idiopathic Hives. We felt so bad for her. They were everywhere, would come and go in severity and itched. A total of 8 days, yucky is all I can say!
I changed gears, put a big turkey with homemade stuffing in the oven for our dinner celebration. It was also just a really cold and rainy weekend, so we played with all their new games and Lego's. It was actually nice to just relax and not have any where to go, no chores to catch up on. Just enjoy each other, play and take naps.
Speaking of naps...do you see Luke? I looked and looked and he thought hiding in the curtains would be a good idea and he wouldn't be found for nap time.
Oh, darn...Shamrock found me. The jig is up and it's nap time.
It was a weekend with a lot of muddy paws to clean, but a nice roaring fire that Max kept going all weekend long. The kids were resting and I could lay by the fire and read to my hearts content. Colin spent his New Year at C-Ranch with my mom and Jeff. He played on the beach, drank lots of hot cocoa, went in the spa and chased Tucker around. Not to mention was spoiled rotten for three days. Max and I took the twins out to lunch on Saturday as Ava appeared to be feeling a little better. A little break in the rain got Luke and Max outside to take down all the lights and decoration.
So, that's that for the holiday decor unitl the end of the year.
