Today my Aunt Debi joined the kids and I for a trip to Fairytale Town in Sac. It was a lot of fun for all of us. Just a little over a 30 minute drive and easy to find. Not to mention only $4 per person (weekdays). Sierra brought her Fairytale key to share. Luke enjoyed it the most.
We entered crossing "Humpty Dumpty's Bridge" to first find "King Arthur's Castle," one of over 30 Fairytale attractions.
Then, it was onto "The Old Woman in the Shoe" where you climbed the stairs in back and slid down the front. At each attraction there was a Storybook Box for your Fairytale Key to be inserted. You could hear the story, rhyme or song that it related to.
Onto "The Tipi"
where the kids pretended to build a fire.
Drinking water was made fun with all the clever ways the park incorporated the fountains. Here is the Hippo others were potted flowers.
This is Daisy the cow. She is apart of "Farmer Brown's Barn."
She shares space with Eeyore, the donkey and lives next door to "Mary's Little Lambs."
The kids exited "Farmer Brown's Farm" through a slide in the loft.
"Owl's Tree House" was the biggest hit. A spiral staircase behind the tree led the kids into the tree house where there was a bird cage with a pretend owl inside. Then a spiral slide got them down. We all decided that we wanted "Owl's Tree House" in our backyard.
Next door was the other favorite attraction, "The Crooked Mile." Here the kids are going in and
coming out. I lost track how many times they zipped in and out.
The girls are inside "Cinderella's Coach" as the boys pretend to be their drivers.
We went to "Mr. McGregor's Garden" for an art project and
to check out all the plants and veggies they had planted.
They all got to water the plants that were dry. At this point we were about half way through and needed a little snack to recharge our batteries. Aunt Debi treated us to fresh fruit and popcorn at "The Dish and Spoon Cafe."
"The Mother Goose Stage" had music for the children to dance to and then participate in an obstacle course. I packed a picnic lunch earlier in the morning. So we enjoyed our picnic in "Sherwood Forest."
After lunch we checked out the "Three Little Pigs" getting a bath in the baby pool and the "Three Billy Goats Gruff."
By now it had really warmed up and we needed to cool off. So, ice cream sandwiches and snow cones were in order. Four hours later we were ready to head home, where the littlest of the group got a much needed nap in the car. This was a great trip we will have to do again.
