Happy 7th Birthday Colin!

We hope you had a beary special 7th Birthday Colin! We love you very much.
Yipeee!
Yesterday, Colin turned 7! Where have the years gone. I stared at a picture of Colin at 2 weeks old and remembered how wonderful it felt holding him for the first time. Looking into his blue eyes and wondering how he would look as he got older, what would his interests be and how he would change our lives. It has been an amazing, awe inspiring, magical, stressful, wonderful 7 years that I would not change for anything. We have our ups and downs as he navigates this world, where and how he fits in. I can't wait to see what his future holds.

With his birthday being on Monday, we enjoyed celebrating on Sunday with a Yummy breakfast at Black Bear Diner. Black Bear himself came over and brought balloons for all the kids and then at the end of the meal they sang Happy Birthday and brought a great sundae as a treat.
After breakfast we headed to a local hobby store to surprise Colin with his birthday present. He picked out the Rustler RC car. We brought it home where he and Max spent some time getting it assembled and charged. They enjoyed racing it outside with speeds topping off at 35 mph. Unbelievable! Later they took it to an empty construction site to see how it handled in dirt, rocks and over hills. The suspension is awesome. We bbq'd pork tenderloin for dinner that night and enjoyed a quiet evening at home. We baked Whoopie Pies for his birthday. Something different and fun. Boy were they gooood! He had a game in the evening and we made enough to share with all his teammates. Colin was up to bat and got a great hit, his teammates were all cheering him on and shouted out HAPPY BIRTHDAY when he got to first base. His face was beaming with a big smile. My mom came over in the afternoon and enjoyed the evening with us, helping me clean my messy kitchen after baking, made a yummy pot of spaghetti and went to Colin's game with us. Colin enjoyed many phone calls and e-mails throughout the day from family and friends with Happy Birthday Wishes. After enjoying a Whoopie Pie when we got home he chatted with his Papa Jim, Granny and Papa Keith before it was off to bed. It was a fun and busy day.
