Luke and Ava's 5th Birthday!

Luke and Ava turned 5 on Thursday.  It was business as usual and it was raining like crazy.
Luke and Ava made vanilla pudding and decorated it with a Hershey kiss and sprinkles for a simple birthday snack.
That evening after Max got home from work and cleaned up the we took the kids to Red Robin for their Birthday.  They were surprised after dinner with a Happy Birthday song from the staff and ice cream sundaes.  The waitress was so sweet and brought an extra one for Colin.   They were quit tickled with the yummy surprise.
After we got home, Granny and Papa came over for a Birthday visit.  The kids opened their gifts, played play dough with Papa and enjoyed a nice visit before it was off to bed.
Friday evening was spent getting ready for their big party day on Saturday.  I stayed up late making all the cupcakes, prepping the food, and cutting out little Leprechaun foot prints to decorate the house.  It appears they came in through a crack in the window

and made their way to turn on the lights.  The kids found prints in the kitchen and bathroom and all through the playroom.  These Leprechauns were quit busy.
The cupcakes were fun to make.  I tried and new product from Wilton.  It was a Food Color Mist, so I misted the tops in green and added rainbow sprinkles.
The beautiful tulips and carnations were from my grandma.  It definitely added a bright spot on a gloomy day.
Green veggies with green tinted ranch dip, our pot of gold (cheese balls), a platter of grapes and strawberries, egg salad sammies, three cheese tortellini with pesto sauce, and
as the guests left they filled a goodie bag with pots of gold chocolate coins and a variety of green candy from the candy bar.
As the guests arrived we had a craft table set up to decorate Shamrocks,
while Colin was on the look out for our special guest.....
Kelly the Clown!!!!
Kelly the Clown spent the next hour dazzling the children with her silliness,
face painting,
musical instruments for a Birthday Party Parade

down the street,
magic tricks with her trusty assistants Luke
and Ava,
Balloon Birthday Hats,
and the Wishy, Washy Birthday Dance with pom poms.
She joined us in singing Happy Birthday first to Luke then Ava.
The kids enjoyed their dessert while it was time for Kelly the Clown to leave.
Luke and Ava received so many generous and thoughtful gifts from their family and friends.
Our wacky birthday boy!
Winding down the day with Corn beef, cabbage, and green beer. Luke had to set up his space to be just like his great Papa.
