This last weekend was tree trimming time at our house. We always decorate and hang lights outside the weekend of Thanksgiving. Colin's 4-H group was selling wreaths for the holidays. Both were absolutely beautiful and smelled so good. They arrived fresh from Oregon via Fed Ex. Thanks to everyone who purchased a wreath, we hope you enjoy them.
The Evergreen with Juniper on the right and Holly Wreath to the left were the two choices. Ours is hanging by our front door and smells wonderful. I need to add a bow for a punch of color or sparkle. I haven't decided yet.
The kids have a small tree that is there's to decorate in the playroom. I don't intervene or tell them where things go or how to hang them evenly spaced. "They hung there stockings by the chimney with care in hopes that St. Nick soon will be here."
Then on to the main Christmas Tree. This is where I have a little more control about the ornaments being evenly spaced. We also keep the breakables up higher. I put the cranberry garland on first then the kids place there personal ornaments on the tree and we fill in with the rest. We made hot cocoa and listened to some holiday tunes to really get in the moment. While we were inside Max was outside hanging the lights and putting out our yard decorations. Everything is looking festive around here and I love the glow of the lights and the warm, cozy feel it brings to the house.
