Hip-Hip-Hurray~My Child Care License came in today. This process began back in January, so 11 months later it's final. There have been many small projects to get done around the house in order to pass the licensing inspection: Tot Locks on kitchen cabinets, additional smoke detectors, emergency kits, baby gates, the list goes on. In the spring my husband, his brother, his dad and a friend installed new lawn in the backyard and built a swing set for the kids. We later added playground bark to the area. The last project finished was the above fire place screen. My husband and dad custom built it for me. Our fire place is odd, since it is up against the wall and none of the store bought gates would work unless they modified it. So, those crafty guys came up with this and believe it or not for quit a bit less money. It detaches from the wall, so if we don't want it up it screws right off. Next on our list of projects is to repair the back fence, and build two new side gates. Not a licensing requirement, it will just be nicer and safer. I have to take my own children into account when it comes to the adult-child ratios. I can have 6 children. Since 3 are mine and Sierra is an infant, I can advertise for 2 more children ages 2+. I am actually looking forward to having one or two children that are around Colin's age for him to play with. So, if you know of any one in my area that has a child age 2+ in need of child care let me know.

Wow! It all looks so awesome. The playground especially. Someday hopefully we will have a yard big enough for a nice playground like yours. The guys really did a great job! I am also, super impressed with the gate. You sure are lucky to have all those handy men around. I sure wish I had all those resources. Lord only knows, how many projects we have. HA! COngrats on your license. I wish My girls could be the two to fill your slots. THey would love it!
