Sugar N Spice Tea Party

This past Saturday I took Ava to the Saturday Club (which my grandma is a member) for an afternoon tea party. My mom joined us and we met my grandma and her friend there. Ava was so excited leading up to this day. We have pretend tea parties at home, but have never gone to a real one. She was so sweet (as usual) and on her best behavior. She got all dolled up for the afternoon in her tights, dancing tutu, leotard and matching hair band (Christmas present from granny Lin and papa Keith). She let me curl her hair, a rare occasion.

Here is Ava sitting at her seat anxiously awaiting the tea and goodies to be served. She picked out her own flavor of tea, Peach!

At each place setting was a porcelain plate, tea cup and spoon. Each attendee had a picture frame to put our picture in (the Saturday club took group photos and printed them out for each of us). The theme for this years Sugar N Spice Tea was "Bee Here for Tea." They paid attention to every detail. Bee's on the napkins, frames, hanging from the ceiling and little jars of honey for your scones with bee labels. Cranberry scones and a three tiered serving tray was filled with the yummiest finger sandwiches and then platters of little cookies and pastries. Sooooo good! Everything was so sweet and so well thought out it was a lot of fun.

Ava had a smile on her face from start to finish. It was so precious and an afternoon I will always remember. What a simple and fun way to celebrate being a girl.

My mom, grandma and her friend bought raffle tickets to win the most precious tea sets. Both my mom and my grandma's friend (Nanita) won a tea set and Ava was a very lucky recipient of both sets. Thank you mom and Nanita, Ava has been serving tea ever since. The above set is covered in butterflies and the set below has pink roses.

Needless to say many a tea parties at home are in our fututre. I now want to try a tea house in Benicia called Camillas on First (I believe). Thanks for the tickets to the tea party grandma, it was a special afternoon.
