Sugar and Spice Tea!

Last Friday Ava and I spent the day baking and decorating 50 cupcakes for the Sugar and Spice Tea on Saturday.

I found these cupcake liners at Michael's and they were perfect. The theme for the Tea this year "Bring your Dolly to Tea" and the decorations were white with soft pink accents.

My grandma is a member of the Saturday club and purchased a table for eight. My mother in law Lin joined us as well as my cousin Sally and her daughter Madeline, my friend Judi and her daughter Sierra. It was a beautiful and sunny day, just fitting for afternoon tea.

Each of the girls brought their favorite dollies to join them. Everyone looked so pretty. GG bought Ava and her dolly a matching dress. What a special treat. Then GG took Ava's dolly home a knitted her coordinating booties, bloomers and a bonnet. Ava was thrilled to say the least.

Madeline, Ava and Sierra ready for an afternoon tea.

The chairs and tables were covered in bright white linens with soft pink ribbons and accents.

Each place setting had a china tea cup and saucer. A three tiered serving tray in the middle of the table with yummy finger sandwiches and small pastries.
We were served scones and a variety of teas, coffee and pink lemonade.

They sold raffle tickets to win handmade dolls or tea sets. GG was the winner at our table and Ava was the recipient of a new porcelain tea set. She was beside herself with excitement. She came home and added to the two sets she won last year.
At the end of the tea, each of the girls were given this foam peel-n-stick doll to make. What a clever and cute idea.
All in all it was a great day for the girls.
The boys spent manly-dad time at the barn in Sonoma. Riding bikes, shooting BB Guns and fixing cars. Luke was under weather that day, so he took a rest in the trailer for a bit. By the time he got home had developed quit a fever which persisted through out the night and next day. Our plans to go to SF had to be postponed and rescheduled for sometime in February.

I love the cupcakes. Love everything. I guess Ava has a tea cup collection started. Cool beans.
