On Saturday morning Colin participated along with members of his 4-H Club in a local Harvest Festival. We created quit a nice petting zoo for visitors to enjoy. My mom was able to come down Friday night and join us for the event. Max had some work to do at the barn and we would meet up with him later.
There was a nice collection of farm animals to enjoy. Chickens, hens, roosters, a turkey, pot bellied pig, horse, goat, bunnies and kittens up for adoption.
Our favorite rooster was this beautiful white Chinese Silky. Who would of thought a rooster could be cuddly.
This turkey weighed in at almost 40 pounds. He was awesome. After talking with the owners they really have to watch his weight because their legs can break if they get to heavy and then they have to be put down.
This horse was a Paint and had the most amazing blue eyes I have ever seen.
A cute lil' pot bellied pig.
More of Mr. Turkey. Wouldn't he make a marvelous Thanksgiving feast.
Luke is holding a Bantam hen. These little guys lay eggs the size of quail eggs. They were so easy to hold and friendly.
Half way through the festival it was time for Colin to take a break from his animal duties and hosting to enjoy some lunch and pumpkin ring toss, a bouncy house
and sac races. This was Colin's first community event with 4-H. He did really well and loved sharing his bunny, Butterscotch with all the children.
